Description
We’re pleased to present our Viola Tonewood series. All of them have a unique look, but are just as strong and lightweight as the original. Pictures of the different options are available here.
To help you pick which option to go with, here are some notes from Tigran as he tried each of them on his violin. If you have any questions, though, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
– Beech: Another bright one, colors of red and orange come to mind.
– Birch: Another power house, yet resonant, elegant, and fair to all strings. Love this one!
– Etimoe: Chocolaty tone, resonant but very warm (a favorite, for sure!)
– Ipe: Dark and noble yet gives the low register support and strength.
– Madrone: Beautiful just like the wood itself! Noble, gorgeous sound throughout. Woody, chocolaty, golden, and red. One of my favorites for sure! Highlighted the high frequencies
– All maple: So Powerful! Sweet like honey, yet bright and glowing. Brings out the low frequencies.
– Sapele: Sounds like someone turned up the volume. Very resonant, sunny, and brilliant
There are sets for every need.
- Have your own pad? The “Solo” is the one for you (it does not come with any pads).
- If you know exactly what you want, go with the single pad of your choice!
- The two-pad sets offer a little more flexibility.
- Finally, the Full Set comes with all four of the standard pads, for the most flexibility in finding the right fit. They are great for teachers, too!
The overall heights with each pad are approximately:
Thin: 0.84″ (a little more than 13/16″), 21.3mm
Medium: 0.95″ (about 15/16″), 24.1mm
Thick: 1.06″ (1-1/16″), 26.9mm
Extra Thick: 1.19″ (1-3/16″), 30.2mm
