"The Arcrest is extremely comfortable, easy to adjust and allows a richer sound to come from the back of my viola. It encourages a natural flexible hold, and the viola feels part of my body. Love it!"
- Ed Le Brocq, Musician, educator, and broadcaster, Brisbane, Australia
"You have an absolutely excellent product! I love it and my students love it as well! Such a great alternative to the old school sponge and 99% of shoulder rests."
- Daniel Lamas, Owner, Lamas String Studio, Manhattan, NY
"My custom ArcRest is exactly what I’d been looking for. As someone new to playing without a shoulder rest I was struggling to find something that would add a bit of support under the violin without detracting from the freedom I’d found in both my posture and sound quality. I wasn’t sure what I needed when I first asked Tigran about the ArcRest but he worked with me to create one that is perfectly tailored to my setup and the carbon fiber reacts beautifully to my instrument which livens its sound quality. Thanks to Tigran and Aaron’s expertise and dedication I’m finally playing comfortably again. I highly recommend the Arcrest!"
- Jeanelle Thompson, Principal 2nd violin, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
"I really like the ArcRest because of how comfortable it is and how it helps open up the sound of my instrument!"
Pedro Mendez, Assistant Principal Viola, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra
"During my performing career I played both, with various shoulder rests and without.
Straight out of the box, the ArcRest felt like the ideal match for my Lorenzo Storioni’s sound projection quality, overtones and ease of playing, thus enabling me to use it instantly in masterclasses and concerts. Students, teachers and performing artists should greatly benefit from using the ArcRest."
- Sergiu Schwartz, William B. and Sue Marie Turner Distinguished Faculty Chair in Violin, String Area Coordinator, Schwob Virtuosi String Ensemble Director, Columbus State University, Schwob School of Music
"I took violin lessons with Tigran in high school and I think it’s so beautiful that his teachings of connection wit the instrument and liberation of a beautiful sound come together in this innovative shoulder rest. It is both firm and light, comfortable, and makes violin playing easier and more fun than with any other shoulder rest. I highly recommend it!"
- Luby Kiriakidi, Harvard PhD student
"I play viola in a local orchestra and have been trying different shoulder rests. I stumbled onto your website and decide to give the ArcRest a try. I got it this morning and tried it – oh WOW what a difference – the quality of sound from my viola is amazing and it is very comfortable. My viola teacher tried it on her viola and now she wants one! I will definitely recommend this to the other viola and violin players in the orchestra! Thank you for the great product!"
- Mary Beth Casement, Pediatrician Carlsbad, CA
"I have been searching for the right “rest” for many years. However, the moment I placed the ArcRest on my violin it was clear to me, this was the solution that I had been searching for. Also, it improved the sound of the instrument!"
- Antonio Cevallos, Violin, San Antonio Symphony
"The carbon fiber viola ArcRest is what I have been looking for all my life! A combination of simplicity and nice design that not only fits perfectly on the viola but it gives me the perfect comfort and flexibility while playing my instrument."
- Roberto Henriquez, Florida Grand Opera and Palm Beach Symphony
"One very interesting thing, the ArcRest helps my sense of rotational motion with my shoulder and it makes the long hours immensely easier! After practicing some very high end virtuosic pieces on viola with a regular nice shoulder rest, my left hand is ready to give out, agonizing... I can't use the traditional shoulder rest after using yours."
- Paul Peabody, violin, New York City Ballet Orchestra
"I've tried many different shoulder pads in my career and had been a long time user of those pink 'cosmetic sponges'....until I recently switched over to the ArcRest. I liked the cosmetic pads for their comfort, and the freedom of movement that they allowed. The ArcRest achieves both these things and more! I admit that I was skeptical at first about the claims that it would help an instruments' sound, but after trying the ArcRest on several different violins, I am a believer. The ArcRest may be relatively simple in design, but....it simply WORKS!"
- Perrin Yang, violin, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
"I happily switched to the ArcRest because of its lightness, nice design, and its minimal contact with the instrument. The most important feature for me, however, is that with the ArcRest, my violin feels more alive. I use the ArcRest myself, and I recommend it to my students."
- Boris Zapesochny, violin, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
"Finally!!! A product to put all the shoulder rests, including the "makeup" sponge, in drawers. From the moment I put the ArcRest on my fiddle, the sound was completely free. Tigran made mine extra thin, and weighing in at 1/4 oz (less than a well-worn sponge), makes playing completely at ease. The ArcRest, with 4 very small polyurethane feet, is held by a rubber band, making the sound extremely sonorous, as well as having the freedom to adjust the instrument as I deem necessary. I highly recommend the ArcRest to all!"
- Wilfredo Degláns, Associate Concertmaster, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
"As soon as I tried the ArcRest I knew it was what I had been searching for. It opened up the sound on my violin, and it allowed complete freedom in playing. I highly recommend it!"
- Linda Owen, violin, Pacific Symphony
"The ArcRest is truly innovative! Its concave shape and rigidity offer great neutral support just under the collarbone, and its distance from the instrument and light weight benefit sound quality, something that no other foam pad offers. And bravo also for investing in a high-tech rubber band: stability is a must, and this is the best rubber band I have ever seen! I have added it to my array of preferred solutions for whenever I fit anyone moving forward!"
